Seeing that OKX has some new moves, my first reaction is @Wangduanniao gotta check this out!
Today, they released the Exchange OS whitepaper, and in June, OKX will launch its first self-operated Exchange OS marketplace. Anyone can create their own marketplace on it. Currently, it supports three main categories: spot trading (including RWA), perpetual contracts, and prediction markets.
Deployers can stake OKB to gain permission to create trading venues, customize parameters within protocol limits (like leverage caps, margin models, access rules, etc.), and choose between a CeDeFi hybrid mode (institutional services with KYC) or a fully self-custodial mode. All venues operate within the same shared execution environment, enabling unified accounts, unified margin, shared liquidity, and order flow.
Exchange OS is one of OKX's most ambitious open infrastructure initiatives since 2026. It aims to strike a new balance between performance, openness, self-custody, and compliance. "Releasing the power to create markets from platforms to the ecosystem."
CEXs are heavily investing in Web3 wallets, essentially to secure the future "on-chain traffic entry point." As AI Agents and DeFi become more widespread, whoever becomes the "operating system" for users entering the chain will hold the lifeline of the future ecosystem.
