We announced Exchange OS today. It is a significant upgrade to X Layer, our layer 2 chain for builders. Exchange OS will allow developers, institutions and ecosystem participants to launch spot markets, perpetual and outcome markets using shared institutional-grade infrastructure rather than rebuilding complex exchange systems independently. The architecture moves core exchange functions (matching, settlement, liquidation, margining and risk management) into a common protocol layer while allowing builders to customize market structures, compliance frameworks and user experiences on top. Instead of fragmented venues operating as isolated systems, Exchange OS introduces a shared execution environment where liquidity, collateral and market activity can move more efficiently across different market types.
