[Musk's Grok V9-Medium Completes Supplemental Training, Introduces Cursor Data for Advanced Programming Scenarios]
According to monitoring by Beating, Musk announced that xAI's Grok V9-Medium foundational model, with 1.5T parameters, has completed training and is expected to be released to the public within 2 to 3 weeks. The model is currently in the supervised fine-tuning phase and will begin reinforcement learning training in a few days.
During the supplemental training, the development team incorporated a large amount of Cursor's code data and plans to continue adding more samples in the future. Compared to the current v8-small model, which supports all of Grok's production traffic, the Grok V9-Medium with 1.5T parameters will achieve significant upgrades in handling complex programming tasks.
Previously, Musk publicly admitted that the v8-small model, with only 0.5T parameters (the external testing version Grok 4.2), had serious deficiencies in the quality, comprehensiveness, and proportion of its training data. The trained Grok V9-Medium not only expands its parameter scale to three times that of its predecessor but is also specifically optimized for Blackwell architecture GPUs. [Original Link]
