[White House Chief Economic Advisor Hassett: Falling Oil Prices May Open Space for Rate Cuts]
Odaily Planet Daily News – White House Chief Economic Advisor Kevin Hassett stated in an interview with Fox News that once the U.S. reaches an agreement with Iran and energy prices decline, the Federal Reserve will have greater policy space to lower interest rates. He noted that the White House expects energy prices to drop significantly after an agreement is reached. Hassett said, 'We anticipate that once an agreement is reached, energy prices will fall rapidly.' He further stated, 'When this happens, the Federal Reserve will have substantial room to take the right actions with lower interest rates.' On the same day, President Trump also mentioned on social media that negotiations with Tehran are 'progressing in an orderly and constructive manner.' (Jin10)
