Just when the market thought the situation between the U.S. and Iran was coming to an end, things took another turn. The main issue is that the U.S. and Iran have yet to reach an agreement on the nuclear deal. As a result, the U.S. continues its sanctions on Iran, which will remain in place until a deal is reached. In response, Iran has once again blocked the Strait of Hormuz—or rather, it seems Iran never truly reopened it. It feels like we’re back to square one, but it’s clear that this round of negotiations is closer to a resolution than ever before. I also believe it won’t take much longer to finalize the deal.
