No feast lasts forever, I’m out for now. Took a small profit.
I’ve been keeping an eye on RIVER’s staking situation these past few weeks, and it’s not looking great. The previously staked tokens are gradually being released as profits, and the total staking amount keeps decreasing. This means there will be long-term linear staking release pressure. Around the 22nd of each month, about 1% of tokens are unlocked, and there’s usually a small dip in the market around this time.
(That said, this portion of released tokens hasn’t caused a complete crash; otherwise, the current price wouldn’t have held up.)
But RIVER is a tricky token, with lots of unusual behavior. Every time it dips to around $6, you’ll notice some force pulling it back up, preventing it from dropping further. That’s actually why I opened a position earlier.
With the increasing sell pressure from multiple token release channels, I feel like it’s going to continue a slow downward trend. It seems like the cost for the whales to accumulate tokens this time will be much higher than when they pushed it to $87 before.
It’s really hard to predict the trajectory of a tricky token like this, but based on my risk tolerance, I feel like the risk outweighs the reward. So, I’m out.
