[Namibian Court Revokes Bail for 8 Defendants in Crypto Fraud and Human Trafficking Case]
According to Bitcoin.com, the High Court in Windhoek, Namibia, has revoked the bail of eight defendants in a crypto fraud and human trafficking case who were absent from court, and forfeited approximately $29,800 in bail money. Prosecutors stated that the eight individuals include six Chinese nationals, one Vanuatu national, and one Singaporean national. Among them, the six Chinese nationals have been traced back to China, and Namibian authorities have requested assistance from Interpol to locate them. The criminal group operated between December 2022 and October 2023 under the guise of a shell company named Raylon Investments. The group is accused of recruiting unemployed Namibians and forcing them into labor.
