[Iran: Working to Finalize Memorandum of Understanding, Focus of Negotiations is Ending War] Odaily Planet Daily News - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei stated in an interview with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) on the 23rd that the current focus of negotiations is to promote the end of the 'imposed war,' with no in-depth discussions on nuclear issues for now. Iran and the U.S. are working to finalize a memorandum of understanding. Baghaei said that at this stage, the negotiations do not involve nuclear issues or the specific details of lifting sanctions. However, Iran's demands for lifting sanctions, especially the release of frozen assets, have been clearly included in the 14-point memorandum of understanding text. He noted that Iran is refraining from in-depth discussions on nuclear issues for now because it believes that nuclear issues have twice been used as a pretext for launching wars against Iran. Currently, Iran is focusing on promoting the end of 'wars on all fronts,' including Lebanon, and may enter negotiations on nuclear issues in the next phase, possibly 30 or 60 days later.
