[Former Farcaster Founder and Tempo Team Member Dan Romero: Tempo May Achieve Decentralization Within Two Years, Head of Asian Market Appointed] Odaily Planet Daily News – Recently, former ChainNews founder Liu Feng and former Farcaster founder and Tempo team member Dan Romero engaged in a series of discussions on topics such as payments, cryptocurrency, and AI agents. Dan Romero addressed several questions raised by Liu Feng and the public, with the key points summarized as follows: 1. The shift from idealistic socialfi products to enterprise-driven public chains: 'The crypto world has changed. Now, there are two things: stablecoins and crypto (more native).' The goal of Tempo and its playbook is: 'Starting with payment services, collaborating with large, established companies to help them implement on-chain payments and drive their business growth; then, combining DeFi applications to launch yield-generating products that meet the needs of end users.' 2. 'Tempo does not have Meme coins or similar products, which is a good thing for a conservative bank. Tempo also has other features: compliance and privacy. For crypto natives, this might not be as exciting. For banks, it’s very appealing.' 3. On the core use cases for payments: 'Platform-based marketplaces and cross-border payments are two clear use cases for stablecoins.' 4. Micropayment-driven intelligent agent payments are worth anticipating; micropayments based on stablecoins will usher in a new era: Payments between intelligent agents, 'Traditional payment methods are too costly and cannot scale. The granularity and speed required can only be achieved through cryptocurrency and streaming payments.' 5. 'I have great respect for Ethereum’s commitment to decentralization and its cypherpunk approach. I really like their new mission—it’s good for the world. But the reality is, enterprises don’t care about these things; they care about whether actual problems can be solved.' 'If Tempo can attract 1 million enterprises and 1 billion consumers, it won’t be a bad thing for cryptocurrency or Ethereum.' 6. Tempo’s decentralization process: Hoping to achieve it within two years, 'We’re not just a bunch of suit-wearing outsiders; we truly understand this. We know how important decentralization is, but at the same time, we’re very pragmatic. I promise to truly push the application forward.' 7. On Machine Payment Protocol (MPP) and X402 Protocol: AI agents don’t care about the differences between the two; the key to satisfying them is eliminating the need for human intervention. 8. Tempo’s head of the Asian market has been appointed and will begin operations in Singapore.
