**[U.S. Director of National Intelligence Gabbard Resigns, U.S. Media Reveals Hidden Details]**
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on May 23, U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced on social media that she had submitted her resignation to President Trump on the 22nd in order to care for her husband, who has been diagnosed with cancer. U.S. media revealed that Gabbard was actually "forced out" by the White House.
In her resignation letter, Gabbard stated that her husband was recently diagnosed with "an extremely rare bone cancer," and her resignation will take effect on June 30. On the same day, Trump announced on social media that Deputy Director of National Intelligence Aaron Lucas would serve as Acting Director of National Intelligence.
According to multiple U.S. media outlets, Gabbard had been marginalized within the White House's national security decision-making system. In recent months, Trump had expressed dissatisfaction with her and was considering replacement candidates. Gabbard has long opposed U.S. government military interventions abroad and held differing views from Trump on the Iran nuclear issue. After the large-scale military action launched by the U.S. and Israel against Iran at the end of February this year, she publicly testified in Congress that Iran had not attempted to rebuild its nuclear program and refused to confirm that Iran posed an imminent threat as claimed by the U.S. (Xinhua News Agency)
