Today, I shared an update on the Government’s work to improve roads across Jamaica through the SPARK programme. Many of our roads and infrastructure are old and have gone years without proper maintenance. Through SPARK, we are repairing community roads, improving major road corridors and upgrading important utilities like water systems. So far, hundreds of roads have been placed under contract and work is already underway in several communities across the island. This is a long-term effort, but we have started the work to build safer and more reliable roads for the people of Jamaica.(Andrew Holness)
