[Bitcoin Mining Firm MARA Holdings Spends Over $869,000 on Bulletproof Vehicle Armor Services for Executives]
Odaily Planet Daily News – The latest DEF14A compensation report released by Bitcoin mining firm MARA Holdings reveals that the company paid $4.3 million in personal security-related expenses for CEO Fred Thiel as part of its security program. This includes a one-time cost of $430,000 for bulletproof vehicle armor and $58,000 for home security installation. Additionally, the company paid $3.946 million in personal security expenses for CFO Salman Khan, which includes a one-time cost of $438,000 for bulletproof vehicle armor. The MARA Holdings board stated that, due to the company’s public disclosure of holding significant Bitcoin assets, executives face significantly higher risks compared to other publicly listed companies. Therefore, providing the aforementioned security measures is commercially relevant and highly necessary. (FT)
