[Ethereum L2 Network Zero Network to Shut Down, Joining Recent Wave of Protocol Closures]
According to The Block, the Ethereum Layer 2 network Zero Network has announced its closure after operating for a year and a half. The network, which focused on gas-free transactions, launched in November 2024. The team stated that the vision of building a gas-free rollup remains valid, but maintaining an independent blockchain is not the right path to achieve this vision. Therefore, resources will be refocused on Zerion's API and wallet services. The team assured that user assets are safe, but users must transfer their NFTs, ETH, or other tokens cross-chain by the end of July, as deposits have been suspended.
