A16z Crypto: Blockchain will become the "cloud transformation" of finance, driving Wall Street towards a composable digital asset system Odaily Planet Daily News: Guy Wuollet, general partner of a16z Crypto, pointed out in an article that the financial industry is experiencing a "digital migration" similar to the cloud computing era, and blockchain is becoming the core infrastructure driving this transformation. The article argues that although the traditional financial system has become highly digitized, the underlying system still relies on fragmented systems and a large number of reconciliation processes, resulting in a long-term lack of unified coordination mechanisms on key issues such as asset ownership, settlement time, and transaction sorting. In contrast, blockchain provides a shared state system that does not require a single controller, allowing multiple parties to coordinate without mutual trust. Guy Wuollet renewing, Wall Street's adoption of blockchain is not driven by the concept of decentralization, but by the practical needs for counterparty risk, settlement efficiency, and fair sorting mechanisms. He emphasized that the so-called "digital assets" are essentially the process of migrating the underlying architecture of the financial system to the blockchain, similar to the transformation of enterprise IT systems from on premises deployment to cloud services. The article further points out that when financial assets run on programmable shared infrastructure, it will bring the core advantage of "composability", allowing assets to be freely combined and expanded like software, significantly reducing development costs and improving the overall innovation efficiency of the financial system. This trend will drive traditional finance from a "closed reconciliation system" to an "on chain coordinated network", and blockchain technology will gradually become a standard component of the financial infrastructure layer in this process.
