[Turkey Has Nearly Liquidated U.S. Treasury Holdings] Odaily Planet Daily News: Calculations based on U.S. Treasury Department data show that Turkey, in March (the first month of the Iran war outbreak), nearly liquidated all its U.S. Treasury holdings to intensify efforts to support its local currency. Data indicates that as of the end of March, Turkey's total U.S. Treasury holdings dropped from $16 billion in the previous month to $1.8 billion. This figure includes bonds held by the central bank as well as other Turkish entities (including corporations). (Jin10)
