[fantasy.top to Cease Operations by the End of June, Previously Stated 'Platform Will Not Shut Down Last Year']
Foresight News reports that the decentralized card game fantasy.top will cease operations by the end of June. The primary reason is the long-term economic limitations of the TCG model. Similar to other consumer-grade crypto products previously launched in this space (such as TopShot and SoRare), the trading volume has been insufficient to sustain long-term operations. Over the past year, the team explored various products and iteration directions in the social domain but failed to achieve lasting market alignment. Major Fantasy events will continue until June 18, with all remaining rewards distributed by then. At that time, all hero-related payments will also be completed. Additionally, the prediction market, prize pools, lobby, King of the Mountain, arena, influence, and all associated gameplay will cease operations starting May 21. Unused paid arena tickets will be refunded.
Foresight News previously reported that in November last year, fantasy.top responded to rumors of an 'imminent shutdown,' stating, 'The platform will not shut down. Core content will remain unchanged and will continue to be a focus for future work. Gameplay updates, balance adjustments, and new version iterations will continue, and the team will provide long-term support and active development. The core game reward treasury currently holds 640 ETH.'
