Gemini Omni Debuts as Google Enhances Video Generation and Editing Capabilities

According to Golden Finance, on May 20, Google (GOOG.O) DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis announced on Tuesday the launch of a new AI model, "Gemini Omni," designed for video generation and editing. He stated: "Initially, this model only generates videos, but over time, Omni will be able to generate any output from any input. This has always been the goal we set for Gemini and the reason we built a multimodal system from the very beginning. This path is more challenging, but now the foundational infrastructure is starting to pay off. Today, we are launching the first model in the Omni series—Gemini Omni Flash." The model will gradually roll out starting today on Google's Gemini app, Google Flow, and YouTube Shorts. The company also stated that it will be made available via API in the future.
