Hut 8 invests $16 million to expand Louisiana water infrastructure and support AI data centers According to PR Newswire, Hut 8 announced a partnership with West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, investing approximately $16 million to expand the local water supply system and support the construction of its River Bend AI data center campus. The project includes the construction of a new water well, approximately 8 miles of water pipelines, and other system upgrades. Upon completion, it will be handed over to the local government free of charge and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026. The upgrade is expected to enhance the water supply capacity and reliability of the entire district, potentially benefiting over 4000 households and more than 200 employer organizations. The first phase of River Bend Park is one of the largest private infrastructure investments in local history, with an expected peak construction of around 1000 workers. After operation, it will create at least 268 direct and indirect jobs.
