After Trump's visit to China, my biggest takeaway is that AI-generated images have completely polluted my information feed. I'm now spending a ton of time verifying whether a photo is real or not.
GPT Image 2 has taken AI-generated image capabilities to a level where the naked eye can no longer tell what's real or fake—no uncanny valley vibes, no gibberish text, no extra sixth finger.
At this point, the only way to verify is through fact-checking.
For big events, you might still be able to verify through searching related info. But for smaller, less-discussed matters, there’s often not enough information to fact-check. So for these smaller things, they’re almost indistinguishable from reality.
Yang Yuanqing didn’t actually chat with Musk;
Photos of the state banquet menu never actually leaked;
The U.S. didn’t throw away the gifts China gave them.
All the images below are fake, but I think a large number of people already believe these things actually happened.
