Real time voice on Android! Open source intelligent agent OpenClaw releases new version, fully unlocking GPT-5
According to Beating monitoring, OpenClaw, an open-source personal agent service, has released a new version v2026.5.18. This update switches the conversation mode of the Android client to real-time voice conversation based on gateway relay, and fully opens up configuration verification and support for GPT-5 series models. The new version of the Android client implements streaming microphone input and real-time audio playback, and connects tool result bridging (which refers to synchronizing tool call status with speech stream in real time) and real-time subtitles on the screen. This allows mobile users to directly wake up and run complex local toolchains through voice commands. In terms of model support, OpenClaw has lifted the interception of GPT-5.1, GPT-5.2, GPT-5.3, and openai dex models during the configuration verification phase. The new version has stopped the forced truncation logic for GPT-5 final replies to preserve the complete channel response and automatically write logs when strict agent execution is activated. In order to simplify plugin extensions, the new version has launched the definaTolPlugin minimalist plugin interface and comes with openclaw plugins build, validate, and init command-line tools. Developers can now declare simple tool plugins in a strongly typed manner, and the system will automatically generate the required manifest and context factory. In terms of underlying performance, the Memory core has introduced a startup incremental synchronization mechanism. At startup, the system compares disk sessions with index files and only performs incremental index updates on files that are missing, altered, or have changed size, significantly reducing cold start time. In addition, the configuration overload of unmanaged signals (such as SIGUSR1) is completely completed within the process, avoiding the problem of parent daemon losing process identifiers (PID) due to the derivation of orphan child processes.
