Russia plans to impose mandatory monitoring on cryptocurrency transactions worth over 1 million rubles According to Bits.media, the Russian State Duma is reviewing a supporting bill that runs parallel to the Digital Currency and Digital Rights Law, proposing mandatory monitoring of cryptocurrency transactions worth over 1 million rubles (approximately 13700 US dollars). The bill requires operators to identify customers, identify suspicious transactions, implement internal controls and document management, transmit data to government agencies, and interface with the Russian Central Bank. Digital compliance will become a mandatory requirement, including checking wallets and cryptocurrencies for money laundering, funding for organizations identified as malicious, and other risks. Exchange merchants can entrust banks to carry out customer identification procedures and must operate as non credit institutions. The central bank has the right to restrict their activities, demand changes in management, remove them from the register, and even liquidate the company through the court.
