The Russian State Duma is reviewing a companion bill to the 'Digital Currency and Digital Rights Law,' proposing mandatory monitoring of digital currency and digital rights transactions exceeding approximately $13,800. Cross-border economic contracts between Russian residents and non-residents involving amounts over approximately $138,000 will also fall under monitoring. The bill further proposes requiring crypto exchanges to implement customer identification, suspicious transaction detection, internal controls, submit data to government authorities, and cooperate with the Russian Central Bank.
