[Citi: Aluminum Inventories to Hit Historic Lows in the Next 6 to 12 Months]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on May 19, Citi predicts that aluminum inventories will drop to historic lows within the next 6 to 12 months. Even in the case of weak demand, the aluminum market is still expected to face a supply shortage of nearly 2.7 million tons this year. If the decline in demand is not enough to offset the supply tightness, aluminum prices could reach $4,000/ton within the next three months. In an optimistic scenario, the average price of aluminum is projected to reach $5,350/ton by 2027.
