ALEX Lab proposes to shift the protocol towards deflationary mode

The ALEX Lab Foundation has submitted governance proposal AGP-8, which plans to cease ALEX community token emissions, close the Treasury Grant Program (TGP), and introduce a token repurchase and destruction mechanism. At present, the circulating supply of ALEX is about 973 million pieces, approaching the upper limit of 1 billion pieces. If the proposal is passed, the next 32 cycles will be the final token emission cycle. Approximately 1.568 million STX tokens remain unclaimed in the TGP 2024 treasury and will be used to repurchase and destroy ALEX tokens at market prices after a 30 day grace period. The agreement revenue will also be used for continuous repurchase and destruction after covering operating costs.
