Schumer, Budget Ranking Mbr Merkley & other Senate Democratic leaders tonight on Senate Parliamentarian’s initial ruling that the $1B for WH Ballroom in the GOP reconciliation bill would be subject to a 60-vote Byrd Rule point of order: “Following this guidance from the Senate Parliamentarian, Republicans will either have to strip the provision as drafted from the bill, or Democrats will raise a Byrd Rule point of order on the floor, and the provision will fail to get the necessary 60 votes to remain in the bill. Democrats are prepared to challenge any future language the Republicans try to pass to use taxpayer dollars to fund Trump’s ballroom.”(Craig Caplan)
