Looking at the distribution of open interest, sports is Kalshi's absolute cornerstone, making up nearly half of the total open interest. Next is politics, with politics + sports together accounting for about 75% of the open interest. The crypto sector's share of Kalshi's open interest is extremely low, at only about 2%, ranking 7th, even lower than entertainment and combo markets.
