DAOs are not dead, just poorly named and in need of some maturation =) i believe in the next years we will see crypto superpower the coop/alternative org structures in expected and unexpected ways. they will then potentially network into larger bilateral relationship-networks, where previously the value generated was captured/disrupted by non-aligned but unavoidable intermediaries. what happens when these can be more easily transcended?
broadly, this gives actors more agency/optionality over a part of their world where they previously didn't - in theory a good outcome to voluntarily associate/disassociate
eg. ESG on steroids: an environmental org networks with other env. orgs to only use infra/lending markets which align with their moral and ethical preferences. (egeg. sharia compliant finance is already $3-5T, growing 15%) we've already seen early examples in branded eco stables where a % goes to eco initiatives. or even further, more comprehensive BDS campaigns
the tradeoff will be ideological purity vs. depth of liquidity and quality of execution. and ofc growing defi privacy will change some of the calculus here. doesn't mean people wont try to make it happen(trent.eth)
