[Trump Team Plans to Reshape Gaza's 'Financial Future,' Palestinian Tax Revenue May Be Diverted] According to a report by Golden Finance on May 16, citing Reuters, five informed sources revealed that the United States is considering asking Israel to transfer part of the Palestinian tax revenue it has withheld to a peace committee to fund the U.S. president's post-war reconstruction plan for Gaza. Three senior officials familiar with U.S.-Israel consultations stated that the Trump administration has not yet decided whether to make a formal request to Israel. Additionally, two Palestinian sources familiar with the discussions said that under the proposal, part of the tax revenue would be allocated to a U.S.-supported transitional government in Gaza, while the other portion would be disbursed to the Palestinian Authority after reforms are implemented. The Palestinian Authority claims the withheld tax revenue amounts to $5 billion.
