THORChain was hacked, with losses amounting to over $10 million worth of assets. According to ZachXBT and on-chain tracking:
The affected chains include BTC, ETH, BNB, and Base.
Involved assets: approximately 36.85 BTC (worth around $2.97M); around 3,443 ETH (worth about $7.77M); and a small amount of BNB.
The hacker primarily drained funds through THORChain's Vaults and Router contracts, then transferred/exchanged them across chains.
Current updates:
The THORChain team has urgently paused all transactions and signing operations (to prevent further losses); the RUNE token price has dropped over 10% in the short term.
This is a typical cross-chain bridge/liquidity protocol security incident, which is a common risk point in DeFi.
