[Iranian Foreign Minister Reiterates Lack of Trust in the U.S. but Still Hopes to Maintain Ceasefire to Leave Room for Diplomacy]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in New Delhi on Friday that Tehran has 'no trust' in the United States and would only consider negotiations if Washington demonstrates a 'serious attitude.' Speaking during the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting, he noted that Iran is striving to maintain the current ceasefire to create space for diplomatic efforts.
According to multiple media reports, Araghchi emphasized Iran's longstanding lack of trust in the U.S. and said that any communication under the current circumstances depends on whether the U.S. shows a 'serious and credible stance.' He also expressed that Iran still hopes to maintain the ceasefire to provide opportunities for subsequent diplomatic engagement and de-escalation of tensions. (Jin10)
