Tezos launches anti quantum private payment prototype 'TzEL' on testnet According to Cointelegraph, Tezos ecosystem developers have launched a prototype of a private blockchain payment testnet called TzEL, aimed at resisting future quantum computing attacks. This prototype uses post quantum cryptography and zk STARK proof to protect transaction data and encrypted payment metadata, preventing attacks such as "collect first, decrypt later". TzEL utilizes Tezos' data availability layer to handle the large proof size (about 300KB) brought by quantum cryptography, which was once one of the main technical obstacles in building scalable on chain quantum resistant privacy systems. TzEL is currently running on the Tezos testnet and is still in the development stage. The transition of the Tezos ecosystem to anti quantum cryptography is still in its early stages.
