The leader of the UK Reform Party is facing a regulatory review over a $6.7 million grant from Tether investors
Odaily Planet Daily News: The UK Parliamentary Standards Commissioner is investigating UK MP and leader of the UK Reform Party, Nigel Farage, for allegedly failing to declare a personal grant of £ 5 million (approximately $6.7 million) from Tether investor Christopher Harborne. Christopher Harborne holds a 12% stake in Tether. Nigel Farage stated that the grant was received before he announced his candidacy in 2024 to ensure personal safety, therefore he is not obligated to declare it. According to the code of conduct of the British House of Commons, new members must register any benefits received within the previous 12 months after being elected. If convicted of violating regulations, Nigel Farage may face penalties such as apology, suspension, or expulsion from parliament.
