10 Chinese companies in the United States are allowed to purchase H200, including Alibaba and Tencent, with a limit of 75000 yuan per company
On May 14th, Reuters exclusively revealed the specific list and quota of H200 chip transactions in China today. At present, about 10 Chinese enterprises have been approved to purchase, and it is clear that the listed buyers include Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance and JD; Lenovo and Foxconn have been approved as distributors. According to the permit issued by the US, each customer can purchase a maximum of 75000 yuan. But none of these chips have been shipped yet. The Chinese side does not accept the Trump administration's mandatory requirement for chips to transit through the United States at a 25% fee, and is concerned that this move may pose security risks of hardware tampering. Therefore, it has directly halted the procurement of enterprises. To break the deadlock, Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun accepted Trump's invitation midway and joined the White House delegation to China that originally did not have him, attempting to resolve the matter face-to-face during this week's high-level meeting.
