⚡️OPENAI CAPS MICROSOFT REVENUE SHARE AT $38B
Under the new terms, OpenAI’s total revenue-share payments to Microsoft are capped at $38 billion, down from a potential $135 billion under the old structure.
That cuts long-term liability by $97 billion.
But there is a catch.
To secure that cap, OpenAI gave up its right to defer payments.
Instead of paying Microsoft $4 billion this year, it now owes $6 billion, adding $2 billion in 2026 alone.
The result is a clear tradeoff: OpenAI pays more upfront, but replaces open-ended liability with a fixed, modelable expense through 2030.
The goal is to pay premium now to give investors a cleaner financial story ahead of a potential IPO.(Coin Bureau)
