[SoftBank Considers AI Data Center Investment Project in France, Scale Could Reach Billions of Dollars]
Odaily Planet Daily News - According to Jinshi reports, insiders revealed that SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son has held discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron regarding an ambitious AI data center project in France, with related plans potentially being announced in the coming weeks. SoftBank is considering an investment in France worth billions of dollars.
Insiders stated that Masayoshi Son had previously proposed an idea to invest up to $100 billion in France, but if he prioritizes allocating resources to other projects, the actual investment scale could be far lower than this figure. Reportedly, the concept for this AI project was initially proposed by Macron during his recent meeting with Masayoshi Son in Tokyo, and the results could be announced as early as this month.
Sources indicated that Masayoshi Son often receives similar investment proposals from corporate executives, but this time, the proposal came directly from a head of state, which piqued his interest and led him to seriously evaluate the project.
