The Codex App/CLI can also directly access stock, financial reports, SEC documents, and financial news data. We are using the official MCP Server for Financial Datasets. It is not simply a plugin for "checking stock prices", but rather an AI agent that connects financial data sources, allowing Codex to analyze real-time data at the same time. What can be done? 1. Check the latest stock prices For example, the latest prices, fluctuations, and trading volumes of AAPL, NVDA, and TSLA. 2. Check historical market trends You can view the OHLCV data of a certain stock over a certain period of time: opening, highest, lowest, closing, and trading volume. 3. Analyze financial reports It can read data such as revenue, profit, balance sheet, cash flow, etc., and perform year-on-year, month on month, profit margin, and cash flow quality analysis. 4. Look at valuation indicators For example, P/E, market value EV/Revenue、 Dividend yield, etc. 5. Check SEC filings Codex can summarize the risk factors, management discussions, and significant events in 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K. 6. Watch company news Analyze short-term catalysis, risks, and market sentiment based on recent news. 7. Horizontal comparison of companies For example, compare the growth, profit margin, valuation, and risk of NVDA, AMD, and AVGO with Codex. 8. Screen stocks Screen out companies that meet the requirements based on industry, valuation, revenue scale, profit margin, and other criteria. Codex CLI installation method: bash codex mcp add financial-datasets --url https://mcp.financialdatasets.ai/ codex mcp login financial-datasets codex mcp list After executing login, it will log in to Financial Datasets using OAuth. If you are using the Codex App, as long as it is the same macOS user as the CLI, the configuration will be shared. After installation, restart the Codex App and start a new session to use it. Usage example: Use financial data sets to check the latest stock price of NVDA, only returning the price, time, and source. Analyze AAPL: latest stock price, recent financial report, valuation, news catalyst, and major risks, and finally give me a short-term/medium-term observation conclusion. Compare the revenue growth, gross profit margin, cash flow, and valuation of TSLA, BYD, and RIVN to determine which one has healthier fundamentals.
