Vitalik proposes ZK payment standard to promote Ethereum privacy payment and AI proxy transactions
Odaily Planet Daily News: Vitalik Buterin published a research article on May 10th, proposing to replace traditional on chain transfer schemes with zero knowledge proof (ZK) transactions, promoting encrypted payments from "pseudonymity" to "default privacy". This scheme allows users to complete payment verification without disclosing their complete balance and transaction history. Vitalik specifically mentioned that in the era of AI agents, autonomous AI agents need to pay service fees such as LLM API without leaving traceable traces. It indicates that through recursive SNARKs and ZK API integration mechanisms, Ethereum Layer 2 can achieve privacy payments at speeds and costs close to transparent transactions. In addition, the proposal also includes selective disclosure and a "clean hands" mechanism, allowing users to provide compliance certificates to regulatory agencies or tax authorities without disclosing on chain private data, in order to meet anti money laundering requirements. Vitalik believes that the open and transparent nature of blockchain is a significant obstacle to the widespread adoption of encrypted payments.
