Jin10 News, May 11 – According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in April, prices for food, tobacco, alcohol, and dining out decreased by 0.8% year-on-year, contributing to a 0.24 percentage point drop in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Among food items, the price of livestock meat fell by 6.7%, contributing to a 0.28 percentage point drop in CPI, with pork prices specifically dropping by 15.2%, contributing to a 0.29 percentage point drop in CPI. Fresh fruit prices fell by 1.0%, contributing to a 0.02 percentage point drop in CPI; fresh vegetable prices fell by 0.5%, contributing to a 0.01 percentage point drop in CPI; while aquatic product prices rose by 1.3%, contributing to a 0.02 percentage point increase in CPI.
