U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett of the Southern District of New York has cleared the legal hurdles for Aave to transfer $71 million in ETH linked to a North Korea-related hacking incident. The frozen attack funds on Arbitrum can now be moved to Aave LLC, but the associated legal restrictions will transfer along with the assets. Previously, plaintiffs holding judgments against North Korea attempted to block the funds, arguing they could be used to enforce compensation rulings related to North Korea. Aave, however, argued that the frozen assets belong to Aave protocol users, not the attackers or any North Korea-related entities. (CoinDesk)
