WuShuo has learned that Wasabi Protocol released a post-mortem on a security incident, stating that on April 30, attackers exploited a vulnerability in its AWS infrastructure to gain access to the private keys controlling its smart contracts. They stole $4.8 million in user funds from EVM contracts and $900,000 from project treasury funds. The affected scope includes certain vaults on Ethereum, Base, Blast, and Berachain; however, Solana deployments and Prop AMM were not impacted. Wasabi stated that the vulnerability has been contained, unaffected vaults resumed withdrawals on May 2, and ZeroShadow has been hired to trace the stolen funds. Regarding whether affected users will receive compensation, Wasabi mentioned they are exploring all possible avenues.
