Investigations revealed that Lin XX illegally obtained over 600 million pieces of personal information data, while Wang XX illegally obtained over 300 million pieces. In 2025, defendant Lin XX, together with Wang XX (handled in a separate case) and others, used encrypted communication tools to establish a group, acting as the group administrator. Within the group, they posted illegal and criminal information targeting others, including privacy violations, insults, and abuse. The group had over 2,000 members.
