China's Gold Production in Q1 2026: 81.065 Tons, Down 7.08% Year-on-Year

Odaily Planet Daily News – According to the latest statistics from the China Gold Association: In Q1 2026, domestic raw material gold production reached 81.065 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.178 tons, down 7.08%. Gold production from imported raw materials totaled 55.165 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.578 tons, up 2.94%. Combined domestic and imported raw material gold production amounted to 136.230 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.600 tons, down 3.27%.
In Q1 2026, China's gold consumption reached 303.292 tons, up 4.41% year-on-year. Among this:
- Gold jewelry consumption was 84.620 tons, down 37.10% year-on-year.
- Gold bars and coins consumption totaled 202.062 tons, up 46.40% year-on-year.
- Industrial and other gold usage amounted to 16.610 tons, down 7.43% year-on-year.
