[Australian Police Seize $4.1 Million Worth of Bitcoin Linked to Dark Web Market Illegal Activities] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on May 8, as reported by Cointelegraph, the New South Wales Police in Australia seized 52.3 Bitcoins, valued at approximately 5.7 million AUD (around 4.1 million USD), during a 15-month investigation and arrested two suspects accused of operating the Ingleburn dark web market in Sydney. Police stated that the seized Bitcoins are suspected to be proceeds from illegal dark web activities related to drug and weapon transactions. The operation, carried out by the State Crime Command's Cybercrime Squad under Strike Force Andalusia, is considered one of the largest dark web-related cryptocurrency seizure operations in Australia. Meanwhile, AUSTRAC has recently intensified its anti-money laundering regulations on domestic virtual asset service providers and cryptocurrency trading platforms.
