[Jensen Huang: Next-generation AI infrastructure will require extensive optical connections, as copper wires can no longer meet the demand]
Odaily Planet Daily News – On Wednesday, U.S. Eastern Time, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, in an interview, highly praised the company's new collaboration project with Corning, calling it a significant opportunity for rebuilding the U.S. technology supply chain. Jensen Huang stated that next-generation artificial intelligence infrastructure will require extensive optical connections because computing demands are growing so rapidly that copper wires can no longer meet the needs. 'We will scale the application of optical technology to an unprecedented level. Frankly, no optical company has ever operated at such a scale,' said Jensen Huang.
Huang also noted that the benefits brought by the current wave of AI investments extend far beyond technology companies. He pointed out that the AI industry is driving increased demand for electricians, construction workers, chip manufacturing employees, and data center infrastructure specialists, which is strong evidence that this development process has already impacted the broader economy.
