BTC fluctuating around $80K, two major events in the past 24 hours:
① Coinbase Q1 disaster—loss of $1.49 per share, revenue of $1.41 billion, both missing expectations, stock down 5% after hours. Weak crypto market directly dragged down trading revenue, and neither stablecoins nor the Base chain can save the short-term earnings report.
② Morgan Stanley's E*Trade officially launched crypto trading, charging only a 50-basis-point fee, cheaper than Coinbase and Robinhood. Wall Street giants are stepping in to grab users.
The technicals aren’t bad—Bollinger Bands creator John Bollinger himself publicly went long on BTC for the first time, with the daily chart breaking the upper band. But with expectations of a ceasefire in Iran, funds are flowing back to U.S. stocks. In the short term, BTC is grinding between $80K-$83K. Midfield consolidation, waiting for direction.
