[mETH Protocol to Gradually Shut Down cmETH Operations, Other Products to Operate as Usual]
mETH Protocol announced that to strengthen long-term protocol consistency, it will gradually shut down its liquid staking token cmETH. The highest TVL of cmETH once reached approximately $620 million. New minting has been halted, but existing positions can still be redeemed and bridged across chains. The project team stated that final EigenLayer rewards distribution will be completed by mid-June 2026, and the reward claim window for previous activities will close on November 7, 2026. Unclaimed rewards by that time will be forfeited. If relevant AVS or partners conduct a TGE in the future that includes retroactive rewards, eligible users will continue to receive them. No user action is required for mETH staking products.
