Reform UK leader Farage says there is no need to declare $6.7 million personal gift from Tether billionaire
According to Decrypt, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage stated that the $6.7 million (£ 5 million) personal gift he received from Tether shareholder Christopher Harborne "does not require declaration" and has been "reviewed from various legal perspectives". Farage claimed that the gift was for his personal safety and occurred before he decided to run for parliament. Harborne also donated £ 12 million to Reform UK, of which £ 9 million was the largest single personal political donation in UK history. The UK government had previously halted political donations for cryptocurrency based on the Rycroft report, fearing that it could be used to transfer funds overseas. Harborne related donations are not in encrypted form.
