[Iranian President Says Rational Dialogue Is Still Possible] According to Golden Finance, on May 6, citing CCTV International News, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated on May 5 local time during a phone call with Iraq's Prime Minister-designate Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani that the United States is simultaneously exerting maximum pressure on Iran while demanding Iran accept unilateral conditions in negotiations. This logic is untenable, and the related demands are 'unrealistic.' Raisi pointed out that Iran has been attacked twice during previous negotiations and now faces military threats again while engaging in dialogue with the United States. He emphasized that Iran has always maintained a willingness for dialogue within the framework of international law but will never accept any external coercion. Rational dialogue is still possible, but advancing negotiations through threats and pressure will not yield results. Raisi expressed hope that Iraq, in its interactions with the U.S., would persuade the U.S. to cease employing military threats.
