One of the key promoters of the Indian cryptocurrency and multi-level marketing (MLM) scam, Abhishek Sharma, has had his bail application rejected. The case reportedly involves over 80,000 investors, with estimated losses of around $52.4 million and a total investment pool of approximately $210 million. The parties involved used fake crypto platforms like Korvio, Voscrow, DGT, Hypenext, and A-Global to promise double returns. After small early payouts, payments stopped in December 2021. The Indian Enforcement Directorate (ED) previously froze assets worth approximately $126,000, stating that the funds were laundered through real estate, shell companies, and family bank accounts.
