[NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang: AI is Creating Massive Job Opportunities, the Best Chance for America's Reindustrialization] DeepTech TechFlow reports that on May 5, according to TechCrunch, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated during a Monday evening conversation at the Milken Institute that AI is an 'industrial-scale job creator,' not a harbinger of mass unemployment as claimed by 'AI doomsayers.' The conversation was moderated by MSNBC's Becky Quick. Huang remarked, 'AI is the best opportunity for America's reindustrialization.' The AI industry is driven by industrial factories producing a new generation of hardware as critical infrastructure, and these factories, along with other thriving parts of the AI sector, require workers. He argued that even if a specific task is automated, it does not mean an entire job will be replaced, pointing out that such views 'confuse the purpose of work with the tasks of work,' which are related but not identical. Huang also criticized claims that AI will dominate humanity or erase vast sectors of the economy, saying, 'My biggest concern is that we’ve scared people... to the point where AI is so unpopular in America, or people are so afraid of it, that they’re unwilling to truly engage with it.' The report noted that some 'doomsday' rhetoric actually originates from within the AI industry itself, with critics arguing that such exaggerated claims are used as marketing gimmicks. Institutions like Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have previously estimated that AI could replace up to 15% of U.S. jobs in the coming years.
